History of Zafar Securities
Zafar Securities (Pvt) Ltd (ZSL) was incorporated on 28th June 1999, under the ‘Companies Ordinance Act’ 1984 of Pakistan Stock Exchange. Syed Asim Zafar, founder and chairman of Zafar Securities, studied nuclear engineering from Purdue University in Indiana, USA, and has done his Masters in Human Resource Management. He has vast experience in running and successfully managing a brokerage house. He started as an agent in 1989 with the membership of Mrs. Tasneem Zafar and in 1992 he acquired this membership in his own name.
In 1995, Lahore Stock Exchange (LSE) did away with the “Open outcry” method of trading; LSE adopted a computerized trading module prepared by a team of brokers lead by Mr. Asim Zafar in Lahore. The software package developed also included Carry Over Trade (COT) and Negotiated Trade, which were unique and had been specifically evolved in our sub-continent.
In 1999, Zafar Securities Ltd became a corporate member of Lahore Stock Exchange Ltd (LSE). Zafar Securities acquired the corporate membership of National Commodity Exchange Ltd, now Pakistan Mercantile Exchange Ltd (PMEX). In 2003, Zafar Securities was the first brokerage house in Punjab to start on-line trading with BOS Trading Terminal and App gave its clients the opportunity to online trading and make their own decisions without any dependence on brokerage houses or traders. It became the first brokerage house in Pakistan to simultaneously offer its clients two trading platforms i.e. Karachi Stock Exchange trading floor and the Lahore trading floor.

Zafar Securities deals in all shares listed on the Pakistan Stock Exchange and commodities listed on the PMEX.
